Cosmetic human test methods mainly include human safety test and human efficacy test.

The human safety test of 1. cosmetics mainly includes human skin patch test and human trial test, both of which are required in the 2015 edition of Cosmetic Safety Technical Specification.

With the formal implementation of the regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics and the Standard for the Evaluation of Cosmetic Efficacy claims 2021 Edition, clear requirements have been put forward for cosmetic efficacy claims. Among them, the product claims that freckle whitening, sunscreen, hair loss, acne, nourishing, repair must be human efficacy evaluation test.

1. For freckle and whitening efficacy test, hair loss prevention efficacy test, sunscreen cosmetic sunscreen index (SPF value) determination, cosmetic waterproof performance determination, cosmetic long-wave ultraviolet protection index (PFA value) determination, these methods have been standardized in the "Cosmetic Safety Technical Specification 2015 Edition" (State Food and Drug Administration Document No. 17, 2021).

2. For the evaluation of moisturizing efficacy, there are relevant standards for reference, namely "Guidelines for the Evaluation of Moisturizing Efficacy of Cosmetics" QB/T 4256-2011.

3. There are also relevant group standard methods for the evaluation of human efficacy such as oil control, anti-wrinkle and firming. Such as: cosmetic oil control efficacy test method (T/ZHCA002-2018), cosmetic shadow skin elasticity test method (T/ZHCA 005-2019), cosmetic anti-wrinkle efficacy test method (T/ZHCA 006-2019).

4. At present, there is no unified standard for other cosmetic human efficacy evaluation methods, which need to be adopted after demonstrating its scientificity, rationality and feasibility in combination with existing data.
